On
February 17, 2009, President Obama signed a
stimulus bill (The American Recovery and Reinvestment
Act of 2009) that made some significant changes
to the Energy Efficiency Tax Credits.
This
new bill supercedes a previous bill (The Emergency
Economic Stabilization Act of 2008) that was
signed into law on October 3, 2008.
- Tax Credit:
- 10% of cost up to $500 or a specific amount from $50 - $300
- Expires:
- December 31, 2011
- Details:
- Must be an existing home & your principle residence.
- New construction and rentals do not qualify.
